I have heard many people say that anyone can go to Antarctica.
Yes this is true in some aspects. But; in reality, you can only visit the areas
that are designated. If you want to travel past the 60th south parallel
you will need a government permit. Well hey that sounds easy enough. Not so
fast my friends when you look through the regulations as you fill out this
application for a permit, here are some of the hang ups you will run into.
1.
No motorized vehicles at all. We are talking
anywhere from almost three thousand miles and even more if there is land even further
out one way, on foot.
2.
So you say ok, no problem we will just use dogs
or other animals to haul all the needed supplies. Nope you can’t bring any
animals at all.
3.
Walking even poses an issue as you are not allowed
to walk on or close to any vegetation.
4.
You can’t scare or fluster any wild life out
there.
5.
You have to carry all your excrement and urine
in over 3000 miles and back for the same.
This is only the tip of the iceberg so to speak.
There are
so many restrictions, that it is impossible to have your application accepted
to travel past the 60th parallel. Why is this? Yes they make up a
bunch of BS about protection the natural resources, but we all know that’s a
load of garbage. They are hiding something from all of us and this needs to be
changed.
There has been an Antarctic treaty in place since the 50s and this
treaty needs to be quashed ASAP. And you the people of this world can make that
happen. Do you think it’s possible to get 500,000,000 signatures? Do you think it’s
possible to raise 3 billion dollars? This could make a change, but I personally
do not see this happening without an endless supply of money. And since your
average person can’t just have endless money printed upon request like the
government, even trying to make a change would be impossible.
Wouldn’t you; like to know what is beyond the 60th
south parallel? To prove once and for all that the earth is either a spinning
ball or a flat unmovable plain? What would you give to make this a reality? A trip
like this would end the debate once and for all.
